Busy Bees Playgroup is a member of The Early Years Scotland and is registered by Care Inspectorate. We cater for children aged 2 years up to starting school. We are in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council.
An annually selected committee of parents/carers run our group. If you are interested in joining the committee, come along to the AGM, which is usually held in May. Our constitution is based on the Early Years Group Constitution recommended by the Early Years Scotland. We are a registered charity run by parents/carers of the children who attend. As we are a registered charity we have to uphold all the charity regulations stipulated by OSCR. (Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator).
As a group who apply for grants e.g. Lottery, Tesco, Co-op, we need to be seen as attempting to raise funds for the group on our own. They will not give out money to groups who sit there and do nothing and expect everything handed on a plate to them. This is why it is an integral part of life at a playgroup.
Busy Bees Playgroup greatly rely on FUND RAISING EVENTS and fees to keep the group running as well as being able to provide outings and new equipment etc. While the committee organises the fund raising events the group greatly rely on all parents to help out and attend these events.
One of the many policies is our ‘parental involvement policy’. This policy states that as a member of the group you are required to help out when you can, assist at fundraisers and generally support the group as much as you can. If any family members have any ‘skills’ that could benefit the group we always welcome them! (Painter, joiner etc)
Busy Bees Playgroup are registered with Eco Schools Scotland and have achieved our second Green Flag in November 2016. We have recently registered to take part in “The Wild Challenge” as part of RSPB.
